A Southwest Airlines flight almost gained momentum from a Taxibane at Orlando International Airport on Thursday 20 March, according to news messages from Southwestern airline and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Flight 3278 tried to deviate at Orlando International Airport at 9:30 for Albany, NY, when the crew “mistook the surface of the nearby course,” Southwest said.
FAA confirmed that at that time, “(Flight 3278’s) aircraft began its starting roll on a taxi man,” but then An air traffic control unit at Orlando International Airport “canceled the starting distance.”
Dachshunds are used to get from gates and hangars to paths. The dachshund runs in parallel with the track and is not designed for the start.
No injuries were reported and no other aircraft were involved. Southwest confirmed that passengers were taken to a separate aircraft, which then took them to Albany.
