Soccer Star, 25, dead after reportingly tried to save lives in nightclub fire

“This is a huge loss for our club, our teammates and the entire football community. Words are not enough to describe the pain we feel right now, ”concluded the statement.

Lazarov had been in the team for six months, according to the football club.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski shared a statement about the tragedy on InstagramWriting, “This is a difficult and very sad day for Macedonia.”

He added, “The government is completely mobilized and will do everything it takes to handle the consequences and determine the causes of this tragedy.”

Marta Kos, the European Commissioner for Extension, wrote on x That she is “deeply saddened by the tragic fire in Kočani North Macedonia, who claimed the life of too many young people. My thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones and all of northern Macedonia.”

People have reached the North Macedonia police for comments.
