A skincare manufacturer has announced that it includes more products in its voluntary revocation across the country and in Puerto Rico.
September 8 Dermarite Industries LLC. specified in an updated News notice that they “implement measures to ensure resolution” after extending their recall of skincare products due to a potentially life -threatening bacterial pollution.
“We realize what impact this situation may have caused and regrets sincerely any inconvenience. Restoring full product availability is our highest priority,” the news message said.
“It is important that we want to confirm that our wound care and nutritional products are not included in this voluntary product recall and remain available for your continued use,” added Darmarite, “our actions reflect our commitment to act quickly, openly and responsibly, so that we can maintain the highest standards for care.”
Dermarite initially announced The recall of several products, including hand soaps, skin creams and hair products on August 8 due to the presence of burkholderia cepacia, which can cause “life -threatening infections.”
According to Center for disease control and preventionThe bacteria are found in water or soil and potentially spread from person to person and are difficult to treat because of their antimicrobial resistance. Darmarite claimed that they had not received reports of any side effects on the products in the recall at that time.
The company issued an extension of the recall, including more than 30 additional products on August 27, according to one press release.
The recalled products include the Dermakleen -Lotion soaps, Perigia Antiseptic and Kleenfoam Soap, Dermafungal Fungal Damping Creams, Dermamed Skin protection, Dermasarra outer painkillers and Gel Rite Instant Gel Hand Sanitizers.
The additional articles affected by the recall include Kleenfoam Antimicrobial foam soaps, renew dimeticonic skin protectors, renew periphect skin protectors, renew skin repairs, rural skin protectors, Perigia Antiseptic detergents and perationuard skin protectors, perine, perine, perin ABC News.
Darmarite previously said that immunosuppressed people are most vulnerable to the products, although they can cause health problems for everyone.

“In healthy individuals with minor skin damage, the use of the product is more likely to result in local infections, while in immune compromised individuals it is more likely that the infection is spread into the bloodstream, leading to life -threatening sepsis,” pronounced Darmarite in their news message in August 8.
The company added in its announcement update, “We greatly appreciate your collaboration, patience and trust as we work through this process together.”
