In a post shared to his Instagram stories On Monday 17 February, the actor shared how it felt to see the accident, which resulted in the aircraft being released up and down after it crashed, developing as he prepared to fly to the same airport.

“Today was a crazy day for anyone flying to or from Toronto,” wrote the actor, who grew up in Canada, in his post.

In his captions he noted how his flight was delayed for hours as a result of the accident, but their flight crew rose to handle it as well as they could.

“The Lax Gate agents for my flight at @Aircanada, which was delayed for four hours due to the event at Pearson, were so fantastic for each passenger. It filled my heart with hope. ”

He concluded: “Hope that everyone who flies arrives at their destinations safely.”

The actor also included a picture he took at his seat on the plane, with his destination, “Toronto, Canada” which pops up on the screen in front of him.

Peter Koukov, one of the passengers on board, told CNN What it was like to evacuate the plane when a fire broke out when it hit the track.

He told the network that he “didn’t know anything was the thing” until it felt like the plane had turned sideways. Koukov reminded of how the aircraft stopped and suddenly, “We were up and down hanging like bats.”

While he could stand upright after leaning himself, he noted how other passengers needed help coming down from their seats, but in the end all was evacuated successfully with the help of the air hosts and the first respondents.

FAA said that the Transport Safety Board in Canada will handle the ongoing investigation into how the crash occurred.
