SC -man killed by “Booby Trapped” house after checking family member: Police

A man in South Carolina was killed after entering a house authorities who say was “Booby caught” with a shotgun.

Jordan Dove, 34, was found with an obvious gunshot wound when deputies responded to a report on a shooting at home in St. Matthews, SC, on Monday 3 March, according to one press release from Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The sheriff’s office said Dove went to home to check a family member, but no one else was at Skytte. During searched for the property, alternates found that the front door was barricade closed and the rear door was rigged with a shotgun.

The authorities described the home that “Booby caught”, claiming that the shotgun had been set so that it would shoot if someone opened the back door, according to the release. They added that the shotgun was “safe” after being removed from the trap by investigators.

“This is an isolated incident and there is currently no threat to the public,” said the sheriff’s office.

According to WIS, the summers believe that Brown set the trap with the intention of harming the authorities.

“This is my opinion … He knew the crime he would commit when he left here and went to Maryland,” the sheriff told the outlet. “He knew he would be on the run. He knew he would be traced back to Calhoun County. He knew we would come out to get him, and I think he created it for us. ”
