Despite his wise cracked titular heroine, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is no joke asking – not because Sarah Michelle Gellar.
After several years of rejection of the idea of one Buffy Reboot, the actress, 47, recently changed his melody and jumped aboard the series’ Untitled Sequel Project on Hulu As both a star and the executive producer – and she is determined to do things in the “right” way.
Talk to people by the 12th annual makeup artists & Hair Stylist’s Guild Awards on Saturday, February 15, Kooby-Do Star said that the fans’ response to news about the upcoming restart, even if “exciting”, has taken on a wave of nerves.
“I wish there was a better word than overwhelming. It is heartwarming and exciting and also incredibly nervous at the same time, ”she told People at the ceremony at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, Calif.

It is “nerve-wing”, Gellar explained, “because you have to do it right”-even if she is convinced that the group gathered to handle the series is right for the job.
“And I think we have this team in place that is legendary, from Chloé Zhao To Zucks (Nora and Lilla Zuckerman), to Gail Berman, ”she added. “And I think people will be quite impressed.”
Zhao, 42, is set on directing and executing producing Hulus Buffyverse Pilot – which comes more than two decades after the show packaged – and Zuckermans are linked to writing, showrun and executive products, Deadline and Amount previously reported.
In addition to repising his role as Titular Slayer Buffy Summers, Gellar is also set to produce the series, together with Berman, Fran Kuzui and Kaz Kuzui, who were all executive producers in the original series.
Dolly Parton – who was an unredredged producer on original series through his company Sandolllar Entertainment and has long been attached to a potential Buffy Restart – Will also return to Buffyverse to executive products.

Unlike the original show, the Hulu project – which is approaching a pilot order comes, confirmed earlier this month – not to center on Buffy, but rather a new Slayer, with Gellar that appears in a recurring role.
After news of the coming Buffy sequel broke, Gellar confirmed the news – and her commitment – on Instagramshares a long and cordial statement to the fans.
“So … … you may have heard some news this week, but I realize you haven’t heard about me,” I know what you did last summer Star started the post, before revealing that the sequel started with a phone call from Berman, her “dear friend and mentor”, three years ago.

“(Berman) told me she wanted me to sit down with Chloé Zhao to hear her put on a potential” Buffy “revival. I was blown away that Chloé even knew who I was, but as I always did, I told Gail that I just didn’t see a way for the show to exist again, ”Gellar wrote. “We have always been in line with it, but this time I heard something different in her voice. I eventually agreed to go (mainly just to meet Chloé) and our twenty minutes of coffee quickly turned into a four hour adventure. ”
The trio “laughed” and “shouted” together “, but mostly we both talked about how much this show means to us,” the actress recalled.

Nothing concrete came out of the first meeting, but talks about the project continued until “one day we landed on an idea,” Gellar said, noting that she “has always listened to the fans and heard your desire to visit Buffy And her world, but it wasn’t something I could do if I wasn’t sure we would get it right. ”
“This has been a long process and it’s not over yet. I promise you, we will only do this show if we know we can do it right. And I will say that we are on the road there, the star continued. “I feel so lucky to be on this journey with these four incredibly talented women, who all love ‘Buffy’ as much as I do. And as much as you do. ”
“Thanks to all the fans who never stopped asking for this,” concluded Gellar. “This will be for you.”
