Rory Mcilroy takes Heckler’s phone during the training round in viral video



Rory Mcilroy made waves both online and in the golf community this week after taking a heckler’s phone.

A now viral video divided into social media platforms that XShows the PRO golf player, 35, who goes to someone on the sideline, asks for his phone and goes away with it on TPC Sawgrass in Florida Tuesday, March 11.

ESPN Identified the person involved as the University of Texas Golfers Luke Potter and reported on Thursday, March 13 that College Junior then apologizes for his behavior – which is said to be a reference to Mcilroy’s poor performance in the 2011 masters.

Although the remarks that led to the event cannot be heard completely in the fan -recorded video, after a training round before the Players Championship, Mcilroy Potter approached and said, “Let me see your phone?”

A seemingly confused Potter handed him over the device and then saw when Mcilroy looked through the phone as he passed away.

The whole incident was over in about 15 seconds, but that was hardly the end of Potter’s problems.

According to Golf.comThe college student was escorted from TPC Sawgrass for violating the official fans performance code, which includes “oral or physical harassment of players” and “distracting a player or any disturbance in the game”, among other rules.

His phone was later returned to him.

“Look, I just made a mistake and I take ownership for it. I apologize for it. It’s all about everything that needs to be said,” Potter told Gold Channel, Per ESPN. “It’s just a good learning experience. Yes, I apologize.”

His coach, John Fields, said Potter will have consequences for his actions.

“He had no idea that what came out of his mouth would result in this way,” Fields told Golf.com.

“When it comes to our University of Texas program, I mean it’s an embarrassing moment. It is particularly sensitive to me because our program is based on respect for the game, and I would say that we train 18 to 22-year-olds on a normal basis and that they do not always make the right conversation, and that is my responsibility as a coach and when they make a mistake it is a learning moment, “added fields.

According to ESPN, Full -wing Star avoids questions about the event afterwards and said: “I’m really glad I shot 66 today”, instead of commenting on the subject.

In Season 3 of the Netflix documentations that aired last month, Mcilroy opened about how his personal and professional life is sometimes intertwined.

“I’ve struggled to try to be the best golfer, the best man, the best dad,” he said in a confession.

The series gave an insight into how he handled news about his divorce (and then subsequent reconciliation) with his wife in seven years, Erica Stoll.

“Everyone’s phones just started blasting,” said one person, while another was added: “Rory’s divorce.”

Fans saw the sports star push through the noise to get their family and career to work.
