Ron Howard Has devoted the majority of his Hollywood career to director, but he says there is one thing – or person – who can attract him back to acting.
Actor-Väin director, 71, who serves as executive producer for the new Apple TV+ Docuseries Fight for Glory: 2024 World Series Says he would “love to do some spectacle”, but does not see it in his future. “I play myself in an upcoming episode of The studioAnd I had a lot of fun doing it … but it’s hard to get time. ”
What would attract him to return to acting? His daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard. “I think that if my daughter Bryce threw me into something, it would force me to put down the leading obligation, put them in a minute and show up,” the former star in Andy Griffith Show and Happy Days Tells People and refers to his 44-year-old actor/director.

He adds, “but otherwise, between what happens at my company Imagine Entertainment with Brian Grazer and our team, and what I personally try to director, I keep my calendar full in ways that are exciting and I want to succeed. I want to focus.”
Since he left Happy Days In 1984, his film and television performances have mostly limited to voice roles, uncredited Komos and played himself.
The Oscar winning A beautiful mind The director says working behind the camera has proven to be “such a fascinating way of life.” He adds, “In the last decade, I have started working with documentaries and scriptful movies, and I really love both.”
Howard continues, “I think both disciplines inform each other in interesting ways, and it stimulates a certain growth for me creatively, which is exciting at this point in my life. There are so many stories and ideas, a taste shift, a sensitivity shift and it puts different kinds of focus on stories and styles of stories in cinema.”

Like the sport in the middle of his new baseball document, Howard -whose latest director project includes the 2020s Hillbilly Elegy2022’s Thirteen life and 2024’s Eden – says filmmaking is a craft that can never be perfected.
“It is infinitely fascinating and satisfying for me, and I feel happy to continue to do so,” he explains. “It is the media that cannot be mastered. A bit like baseball, no one beats a thousand. You have to realize it about filmmaking: you give it the medium and the audience and everything you have and then try to look for the next amazing story.”
Although Howard is not sure what the next story will be, he is keen to get started. “I remain really exuberant and forward -looking what I do,” he says, “as long as I can physically enjoy it.”
