A group of thieves posed as construction workers to rob a Queens, N.Y., home of $3.2 million worth of jewelry on Oct. 16, the New York Police Department said.
The robbers broke into the back door of a private home near 160th Street and 84th Drive in the Jamaica Hills neighborhood of Queens at approximately 2:20 p.m. local time on October 16, NYPD Crime Stoppers said Tuesday, October 28.
The three men drove a blue Hyundai Elantra and got away with a safe and very valuable piece of jewelry, and as of Tuesday, October 28, were still at large. Two of the men wore black sweatshirts, black pants, black and gray sneakers, white construction hats, black backpacks and each wore a “neon construction jacket,” the NYPD confirmed. New York Post.
The getaway driver was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, black pants, gray sneakers and black gloves, police said. He was seen driving and leaving the blue Hyundai Electra.
In pictures shared on X on Tuesday by NYPD Crime Stoppers, the subjects are observed pulling up in their getaway car before covering their faces and entering the residence.
No injuries occurred as a result of the break-in, according to Pix 11 News. The motive is still unclear.
