A woman described as a “very experienced hiker” was rescued after hung on the side of a cliff on Pacific Crest Trail For “more than an hour”, and the pictures reveal how dangerous the situation really was.
The rescue occurred in Riverside, California on Sunday, April 13, after the named woman was left “thousands of meters above the ground”, according to reporting of Good morning America.
She was rescued by Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit, who talked about the details and shared a clip of the “intense, technical” rescue from a “very uncertain place” on Instagram.

According to the Air Unit, the woman was able to warn others by using a “Garmin type of emergency communication unit.” When they found her, she was “exhausted” and “clear death grip on the cliff” to hold while wearing a “heavy package.”
“When I first saw her on our first pass, it looked like she was hanging out for her life on the side of that mountain,” Cory Allen, a rescue specialist for Riverside Country Sheriff’s Department, GMA. “We could definitely see her silhouette at the steep angle. She just hung on.”

Allen helped to monitor the rescue from the air, while Chief Rescue specialist Jason Beeman was sent down to help her in safety. He told me GMA That he could not get a security harness around her because of the position she was in.
Instead, he got her in a “bear hug” and helped her climb up to the top of the cliff where they could lift back to safety.

The woman was good, even though she suffered “some cuts, some bruises and complete fatigue”, according to GMA.
“This is our job, and we love to do what we do. We’re all passionate about it,” Beeman said. “I just assured her that you are not the first season that has been picked up by PCT. You won’t be the last.”
Pacific Crest Trail extends across the United States on the western side. It is notoriously difficult for hikers to handle. Corporal Mike Calhoun, who piloted the rescue mission, described it as “very dry, very hilly” and “a lot to come across” while he was talking about GMA.
