Rachel Zegler criticizes criticism of Disney’s Live-Action-Remake by Snow White to “Passion” for the film and its characters.
When you talk to Vogue MexicoThe 23-year-old actress treated negative reactions to her casting as well as previous statements and Zegler made about the original animation. She explained that the audience feels protective over the famous princess as well as the original animated in 1937 Snow white and the seven dwarves.
“I interpret people’s feelings about this movie as their passion for her and what a honor to be part of something that people are so passionate about,” Zegler said in their interview. “We will not always have the same feelings as everyone around us and all we can do is do our best.” (Zegler’s interview was conducted in Spanish. Quotes were translated independently from Spanish to English by people.)
Both Zegler and adaptation have faced different criticism since the project was announced. Following her casting recognition in 2022, actress treated racist backlash from right-wing critics that she played the Disney Princess while she was of Latinx background (Zegler is of Colombian and Polish descent).
Disney -remake has also been Called by Evil Actor Peter Dinklagewhich was born with a form of dwarf called Achondroplasia. He accused Disney of “hypocrisy” over the upcoming film, with reference to Fairy Tale’s “Backward’s story of seven dwarves living in a cave together.”

Zegler addressed backlash over its announcement with Andrew Garfield in AmountS ACTORS ON ACTORS seriesRemembering that “was a huge thing as trends on Twitter for several days, because all people were angry.”

Zegler met again during the 2022’s D23 Expo, she described the original 1937 film as “dated”, and added that Prince Charming “literally stems” Snow white.
In his interview with Vogue MexicoExplained Zegler: “It is very important for the public to know that Disney has found this beautiful and sensitive balance between the animated classic in 1937 that everyone knows and loves and at the same time introduces it to this new generation.”
The Snow White Remake is directed by Marc Webb (The fantastic spider man) and arrive at theaters on March 21.
