Prosecutors moved to release some of the charges against Sean “Diddy” Combs A day before closing arguments will begin, even though the Mogul is still accused of sex trading and racketeering.

In a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, prosecutors said that they will not instruct the jury to consider attempts at kidnapping, attempted murder and help and support sex trafficking before deliberations.

“The government understands the court’s desire for streamlined instructions,” prosecutor wrote in the letter obtained by people. “With that in mind, the government has proposed ways to streamline these instructions … The government is no longer planning to continue with these responsibilities so that instructions are no longer necessary.”

Combs is accused of sex trafficking, racketeering and transport of engaging in prostitution. These accusations were not affected by the letter of the prosecution, but the jury will now have fewer predicate to consider during deliberations.

Defense lawyers rested their fall after 23 minutes, after calling no witnesses and introducing a series of text messages into evidence. Combs did not testify.

Prosecutors called 34 witnesses during 29 days of testimony. Noteworthy witnesses included Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, whose accusations of abuse are crucial to the government’s fall, and Kid Cudi, who testified that his car was once blasted with a Molotov cocktail.
