Prince William and Prince HarryLoved former bodyguard, Graham “Crackers” Craker, has reportedly died. He was 77.
Craker was the boys’ bodyguard when their mother, Princess Dianadied at the age of 36 in August 1997, stores including Telegraph and Sky News recalled while reporting his death. The sun was the first to report the news.
William and Harry were aged 15 and 12 when their mother died in a car accident in Paris, and the Duke of Sussex recalled Craker who supported them in his January 2023 memoir, Spare.
The former bodyguard – who retired in 2001 after 35 years in the UK’s big city police and 15 years who served as a bodyguard for the royal family – went with the boys behind Dianas Hease when it got from St. James’s Palace to Westminster Abbey for September 6, 1997 Funeral ,,, Telegraph reported.

He told the outlet that Diana’s death was, “hard to take in. It takes a while to absorb and then you feel the need to make sure what you hear is true – and it didn’t take long to establish. From there it is the police instinct to assess the situation and continue.”
Craker was with the royal family in Scotland when the late princess died and told the outlet that he could not really comfort William and Harry. “It was obviously the parents, the family and everyone else they thought could help. When we met, it was a pretty gloomy atmosphere,” he said.
“Perhaps the most emotional (part of the week after Diana’s death) was to see William the next morning (the car accident). I saw William go his dog outside, and I went up to him and said,” I’m very, very sorry to hear your bad news. “William unfortunately said,” Thanks. “I didn’t want to get into his grief, I then went on and William continued to go his dog,” New York Post reported.
Craker also told the outlet about traveling in Hearse with Dianas Kista. “I was standing on the back of my heart and William looked up and admitted me. I looked at him and nodded. William comforted that I was with his mother on her last trip,” he said.
Craker – who was also a guest at William’s Wedding to Kate Middleton 2011 – Formerly became a member of the Royal Victorian order of the late Queen Elizabeth For his services to Royals, Telegraph noted.

In recent years, Craker spent time working with local organizations such as Southern Maltings Art Center in his eastern Hertfordshire hometown Ware, Per Sky News.
Charity shared a tribute and a photo on FacebookWriting, “While the most important people in his life was Graham a father and grandfather, for us he was a valued friend and colleague.”
“From a career in the police, as a member of the protection group, a huge driving force in Rotary and eventually a key volunteer on southern Maltings, so many people will miss our own James Bond,” continued the caption.
“Our broken hearts go out to his family and everyone who knew him,” ended the post on April 3. “RIP Crackers, we will make sure you remember behind the bar and will lift a glass for you tonight.”
Kensington Palace refused to comment when contacted by people. Prince Harry’s spokesmen and the metropolitan police did not answer immediately when contacted by People for comments.
