As a master of first responders, Prince William going out to see some of London’s emergency teams before taking some time with the family.
The Prince of Wales, 43, visited the UK’s largest ambulance service on Friday, October 17.
He headed to London Ambulance Service headquarters in Waterloo, where he was taken to meet staff working in the wellbeing team, which both supports people in the building and offers support and services to paramedics who do life-saving work every day.
William also spoke to paramedics and other frontline workers about their experiences and the importance of providing mental health support to those working in the emergency services.
Prince William, who was an air ambulance pilot, often highlights the stresses and strains of working on the frontline of emergency services – and the mental health support these teams need.

The patron of the London Air Ambulance was shown in the Emergency Operations Control Room where the team works around the clock handling the calls. He chatted with call handlers, ambulance drivers and members of the Clinical Hub team about their different roles in the service.
William, who served as an air ambulance pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance from 2015 to 2017 and flew 999 missions, was then taken on a tour of the vehicles used by the service, including the world’s first purpose-built all-electric ambulance and electric emergency response vehicles. He was also introduced to specialist paramedics and attended a training demonstration.

It is the 60th anniversary of the service.
Every year, the blue light service takes millions of emergency calls, provides personal care and treats around 180,000 over the phone.

Prince William’s royal outing brought his three children along Kate Middleton — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — prepare for a break from school when the fall semester begins. The Prince and Princess of Wales usually try to keep work to a minimum when their children are on holiday to spend time as a family.
The family is also expected to do so move into their new home in the coming weeks.
