Prince Harry says the story can repeat after security loss

  • Prince Harry said he and his family will not be safe in Britain after his appeal to reintroduce his state -funded security was denied
  • Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, went back from their roles as Senior Working Royals 2020, after which their security was downgraded
  • Now the Duke of Sussex will not bring his children, Prince Archie or Princess LiliBet, to the UK because he says they will not be properly protected there

Prince Harry says he fears for the safety of Meghan Marklethemselves and their children in Britain after he lost its appeal to reintroduce its state -funded security there.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, got his security downgraded five years ago when he went back from royal information in 2020. His appeal to have his police protection was re -examined on May 2 by judge Sir Geoffrey Vos and two other judges.

Shortly after the appeal was denied Harry to BBC that he, Meghan and their children, Prince Sarker and Princess LiliBetwould not be properly protected if they were to return to the UK without security and claim that “a duty of care” has “been completely thrown out the window” with the decision.

“At the heart of it, this is a family’s dispute, and it makes me really, really sad that we sit here today, five years later, where a decision that was made – probably, actually, I know – to keep us under the roof,” Harry said.

He continued, “But when they realized it would not work, when they realized that I, my wife, my children are happier outside the institution, please just look at the facts.”

“Look at the risk, look at the threat, look at the effects of something happening to me, my wife or my father’s grandson. If something would happen to them, look where the responsibility lies,” he added.

Prince Harry said that the security issue is greater than the gap with his family.

“Whether we agree or disagree – there is much that we agree with, there is much that we do not agree with – it aside, where is the duty of care?” Harry asked. “Because, as I said, life is valuable, and it is very clear that from 2020, because I no longer got an official role and since I decided to remove myself from the institution, that my life was devalued from the highest score to the lowest point overnight.”

“I don’t want the story to repeat itself,” said the Duke of Sussex. “I think there are many other people out there, the majority, who also do not want the story to repeat themselves. Through the revealing process, I have discovered that some people want the story to repeat themselves, which is quite dark.”

Harry’s mom, Princess Dianawas left without police protection after choosing to refuse it after her divorce from the future king Charles. She died in a car accident in Paris in 1997 and was persecuted by paparazzi and only guarded by private security.

He said earlier that he felt that “the story repeated himself” during his relationship with Meghan but that he was adamant to not let another woman close to him be abused by the press.

He said in applev+ docuseries That i can’t see“Do I have any regrets? Yes. My biggest regret is not to do more of a attitude earlier in my relationship with my wife and shouted racism when I did. The story repeated. My mother was chased to her death while she was in a relationship with someone who was not white and now sees what happened. You want to talk about the story repeated, they will not stop (meghan).” Dies. ”

Even in his BBC interview, Harry said he could not imagine bringing Archie, 5, or LiliBet, 3, back to Britain with Meghan after the May 2th sentence. He said to the outlet, “I can’t see a world where I would bring my wife and children back to Britain at this time.”

The Prince, who lived in the UK for decades and served in the British military for several years, said that his children would miss “everything” in the country, a place he claimed that he still “loves” and always has “despite what some people in that country have done.”
