Porsha Williams marked her return to The real housewives in Atlanta With some tears.
During March 9 season 16 premiere of the Bravo hit – which saw Williams return to franchise after a two -season repayment along with a restarted role – Go Naked Hair founder became emotional when she opened about her ongoing divorce from strange husband Simon Guobadia.
“Life doesn’t always have a saga’s end,” Williams, 43, told the viewers at the top of the show, because she found that she had applied for divorce from Guobadia a few months before Rhoa Cameras picked up.
Maintain stability in their marital homes with daughter Arrows Jhenena McKinleyHer child (who turns 6 this month) with ex Dennis McKinley, has been a priority. “Things get really stressful with the divorce, and I’m trying to find out the way forward,” Williams said.

Williams and Guobadia, 60, Started dating in April 2021 After meeting through his former bravo costs, Guobadia’s ex Falenn Pina. The couple announced their commitment just a month later and said “I do” in November 2022 With two back-to-back weddings: one in Nigeria and the other in Atlanta.
Their split, which People announced exclusively in February 2024took Rhoa Fans surprisingly. But as Williams noted in the Season 16 premiere, things between the previous couple were far from perfect.
“When you’re married I’m old school-you don’t go out and tell people what’s going on in your house,” she said. “I know it looks too many people,” oh, she published this perfect life. “But I look back and I can think for myself,” I definitely published this to know that we’re not okay. “”
Williams explained what went wrong and said she and Guobadia had “serious trust problems” between them. “He was just not the man I thought I was getting married,” she explained, when editors played video films by Williams from a future moment this season and asked, “Who F — did I get married?”
Later, in a discussion with divorce lawyers Randy Kessler and Asha Howard, Williams shared more about how the romance fell apart.
“In my relationship with Simon, I felt that if I had him by my side, we could conquer anything,” she said. “But I just began to realize many different things that turned out to be false.”
Many of these untrue ones, said Williams, involved money. “He wouldn’t tell us what our economy was,” she said. “It’s not like I was sitting here as a stupid little wife and just enjoying some money. No, I actually asked my husband,” What happens? “

Williams also caused concern about Guobadia’s immigration status in the United States. In February, the Nigerian natives were arrested by US Immigration and Customs Administration (ICE) in the middle President TrumpMass deportation plan.
According to court items obtained by Atlanta’s WSB-TV 2Guobadia – who migrated to the United States in 1982 – has long tried to become an American citizen, to no success.
He was declared deportable in 1985 after exceeding his visa, the outlet reported. He repeated the problem next year, when he returned to the United States on another work visa.
Guobadia was then deported back to Nigeria in 1992 after three arrests, including a 1987 for alleged banking and credit card fraud, WSB-TV 2. But after less than a month away, he returned to America under an unclear identity and was granted permanent residence status.
In 2016, the businessman applied for naturalization – but since his previous status “illegally was granted” he was denied. He has made several complaints and appeals since then, with his last attempt was denied in January.
Throughout its time together, Williams said in Rhoa Season 16 premiere, she had questions about Guobadia immigration issues.
She remembers asking him, “Why, when we go to the airport, do we have to stand in a secondary line? Why do we have to go through these issues continuously?”
“Only so happens, all this information I had asked him about and he had lied about, came out; that he did not have a really green card and he tried to get citizenship,” she said, pointing Reports of guobadia circulating in the press during their marriage. “For me in my relationship, I used to be proud that we had great communication. When communication began to be missing, it felt deliberate.”
Submitting a divorce, said Williams, was a choice she made in an attempt to “protect assets” as their marital homes, where they have 50/50 interests.
“My back was so against the wall. The only way for you to really protect yourself at the end of the day if you have a Prenup is to execute it. And you just execute it by making a divorce,” she said. “I won’t let a notification about foreclosure come to my house and I can’t pay it. So I wanted to make sure that if that happens, I have the money to do what we needed to do.”
Since then, Things have been disputed between the couple. Guobadia even took legal action to prevent Williams from filming Rhoa In their home (A judge finally released against GuobadiaAlthough viewers probably won’t look inside the property until the end of the season).
All the battles have prevented Williams from fully processing their divorce, she said. “I haven’t handled the emotional part yet. I have had to deal with logistics,” she explained. “It’s really strange. It feels really cold.”
That was when the tears began to float, because Williams reflected on the status of her relationship with Guobadia at the time of filming.
“I was enough for him about two weeks ago and just tried to see where we could find some peace in this and now he doesn’t want to communicate at all,” she said, crying. “But I have just given up that part, so now I have to be the person he says. Now I have to be cold, I just have to move on in the court process.”
“I still love this person and I really hate all this,” she said in the section as well. “Now I just want to be released and I just want to move on.”

The vulnerable moment caused Williams to reflect on the good times in their marriage. “One of my joy was to get up in the morning and just think about what I could do to make him happy,” she recalled. “And I really felt he was the same way about me.”
“I would have gone to the end of the world with this man. But the person I am now mourning, he was not real,” she said of Guobadia.
“He is a nightmare,” concluded Williams.
