Pilot groom flies bride to wedding reception with air theme (exclusively)

A bride and groom took flights, but they were not on their way to their honeymoon.

Just a month before his wedding day, Jacob Bradley Kinser, 27, officially received his pilot license. He had prioritized his private lessons in Guthrie, Oklahoma, with the goal of flying himself and his bride, Nina Lee Giefer, 25, in their wedding reception for their large entrance-and he did just that on Saturday, May 24.

“The guests were in reverence!” The wedding photographer, Malachi Westbrooktells people. “Seeing the faces of their loved ones just happy from the day and was filled with excitement for Nina and Jacob were incredible. Small children were crowded around the balcony (bet they kissed up in the sky) and their grandparents caught everything on their phones to play for the incredible moment.”

The groom comes from a long line of pilots, with his grandfather, father and brother who are all pilots with air balloons. Kinser and his father took the family’s legacy a step further by both becoming a flight pilots. Being able to fly his father’s 1964 Piper Cherokee 235 helped Kinser visit Giefer every month when they met a long way.

Kinser’s father was “ready” waiting for the asphalt outside Taden Field Housein Bentonville, Ark., With the arms in the sky to Marshalla them in.

“When Nina and Jacob passed away, they were absolutely brilliant,” recalls Westbrook. “They had huge smiles and quickly got into their cocktail hour, greeted by all their friends and family. It was a huge success, and one they were not sure if they could pull off, and then you could only feel how excited they were to start the celebration of their new marriage with such a large entrance.”

The couple’s 135 wedding guests on the patio were “absolutely shocked and happy” when they saw Kinserfett the landing and the couple waves when they taxed in.

“It was a dramatic and unforgettable start to the celebration,” Kinser and Giefer tells people. “We were overjoyed and a little distrust that we had actually pulled it away. We couldn’t hide our excitement and it was incredible to see everyone on the cocktail hour when we went out of the plane to a crowd full of surprised friends and family.”

Westbrook adds, “it made such a statement and immediately increased the tension in the wedding day and the reception, especially since it had rained and they were not sure if they would fly.”

Unlike their traditional ceremony at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Bella Vista, Ark., Bride and Groom’s cocktail hour and reception were the air theme. All guests traveled from the state for the wedding, so the couple wanted to be big.

“We have always loved traveling, but Jacob has a passion for flying. He looks at Youtube videos on flight, he knows almost every aircraft flying above us, he traces flight while we want him to fly almost every day,” says Giefer, who is a nurse. “One thing with us is that we love a theme. So when we realized that we could have our reception at the local airport, we knew we had to make it big.”

From the interior to the activities, all the air theme was. Upon arrival, the guests were welcomed bags that contained “aircraft” and they checked into their hotel rooms, otherwise known as “crew housing.” Later they went to rehearsal dinner, which the couple calls “before flight entertainment.”

At the cocktail hour, the guests drank “jet fuel” and found their place by looking at arrival, which included all the names of “passengers” and their “destinations”. Each table was another city, state or country lenses and Giefer had visited under their relationship. The table numbers included a photo of the couple in that place.

The guests were also encouraged to take “passport photos” in a photo booth with pilot props. Before they left, they signed a world map that served as a guestbook and read: “You mean the world for us, sign our map.” Wedding guards were picked up on “luggage Claim”, which was loaded in old suitcases.

Everyone also stopped at the plane, which had a classic “just married” sign hanging on the back, to take pictures.

Thank you cards were sent as a postcard from the couple’s honeymoon in Alaska.

Kinser and Giefer met in 2021 when Kinser was in Milwaukee, Wis., For work, and immediately beat at a joint friend’s dinner. After nine months together, the couple’s relationship turned a long way, with Giefer left in Wisconsin and Kinser moved home to Oklahoma. The two saw each other at least once a month and tried to visit somewhere new and often met in different states.

During two and a half years of dating, the couple visited 16 states and two countries together before they involved in Key West, FLA.
