Pet rescuers ‘left speechless’ of the dog’s ability to walk on his front paws (exclusive)

The fluffy white puppy was recently handed over to a New Jersey protection in “horrible condition” with three other dogs, according to the Christian Peralta, the CEO of Vintage Pet Rescue.

“All the dogs were strongly slowed and covered with fleas and stools. They couldn’t see and could barely walk,” Peralta people tell of the neglect Keno endured before his rescue.

A volunteer with the New Jersey Protection contacted Peralta to transfer Keno to Vintage Pet Rescue-en Rhode Island-based rescue specialization To help older dogs and pets with special needs – After noting that the dog could take advantage of some extra attention.

“When he was bathed and cared for, the protection knew that Keno was different. His hind legs were definitely not” normal “, and he would regularly walk on the front legs – almost a handstand,” explains Peralta.

A veterinary examination and X -rays revealed that Keno had several deviations in his knees and hips, which probably led to the dog developing a unique way to go that worked for him.

Peralta agreed to move Keno to Vintage Pet Rescue and knew about the dog’s preference to walk on his front paws before he arrived, but the puppy’s unusual time still left her “speechless.”

“Everyone who has seen him go is left speechless. We have never seen anything like it, and it is shocking, impressive and sad at the same time. Before he came to us I had seen videos, but see it personally was really shocking,” Peralta parts.

Fortunately, Keno’s rescuer believes that the dog’s deviations and walks in frontbar does not cause him any pain. The deviations are likely to be birth defects that Keno has adapted to over time, according to Vintage Pet Rescue.

“We think this is an innate state that he has had his whole life. It was not due to injury or neglect. Thankfully, we do not think he has any pain, and that is only normal for him,” explains Peralta.

Vintage Pet Rescue is investigating whether Keno would be a good candidate for a wheelchair in the dog, which can allow the dog to take some pressure from its front paws. According to his caregivers, Keno is also a joy to have around. They describe the puppy as “extremely sweet” with “the most soulful puppy eyes we’ve ever seen.”

“He is also so, so happy, playful and easy going. He doesn’t play with toys yet, but he is playful with people and enjoys eating and walking,” says Peralta.

In fact, Keno has been so charming during his short time at Vintage Pet Rescue that he has already found an eternal home.

“Our veterinarian fell in love with Keno when she met him, and she welcomes him to her family in a few weeks!” Peralta says about the happy news.
