Person of interest in “political murder” by Charlie Kirk in custody

A person of interest in Death shooting right -wing political commentator Charlie Kirk Is in custody, the authorities said Wednesday.

At a press conference on Wednesday, the authorities said that a person of interest had been arrested. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said that the authorities do not have information “that would make us believe that there is a second person involved” in what he described as a “political murder.”

Prior to the press conference, the FBI director Kash Patel published to X that the “subject” who is believed to have shot Kirk, 31, “is now in custody.”

The shooter was is believed to wear dark clothes And tactical gear and had shot from a building about 200 meters away, the authorities said.

Kirk, 31, was shot during a campuse event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, September 10. He manned his signature “prove me wrong” table as part of his American comeback tour on Orem, Utah, campus, when shots were fired.

He was survived by his wife, former Miss Arizona USA Erika Frantzve, and their two children, a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son.
