Pastor killed colliding with semi during his bike ride before the church

A Tennessee -pastor is happy to remember after he was killed in a bicycle accident.

The crash occurred on East Hunt Road at North Wright Road in Alcoa just before 8 o’clock local time on Tuesday 26 August, according to one News notice Shared by the Alcoa Police Department (APD).

The police said a semi truck and a cyclist “went the same direction before he collided.” On one Other news noticethey said the truck was knocked out the cyclist and caused the crash.

The first answers “immediately” performed CPR on the cyclist when they arrived at the scene per police. The cyclist was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

The cyclist has been identified as 61-year-old Rowland Buck, by Alcoa, according to police.

Buck was a pastor with St. Marks Global Methodist Church, according to one statement shared by the leader of the church. He “came to St. Mark’s in Louisville 2019” and was “an ordained elder in the global Methodist Church”, according to the Church Website.

Pastor Todd Chancey, Superintendent for Midsouth Annual Conference for Global Methodist Church, said in a statement That money was dean of the cabinet at Midsouth’s annual conference and the chairman of the Knoxville district in Tennessee.

According to ChatanooganBuck was married to his wife and high school darling, Sinda, for 38 years.

Jason Rowe, Buck’s friend and colleague pastor, told ABC Affiliate Wate That buck was “a powerful warrior, a man of faith, (and) a man who deeply loved Jesus.”

“He was a true guy,” Rowe explained, leaving Buck “living” his religion and “wanted people to experience and feel the peace of Christ.”

“He loved people that way,” Rowe continued. “That’s why we see such a big answer in our society of people because he was an influence. He affected people’s lives, by friends. He was just a real person and we have lost well.”

Rowe told Wate that Buck was part of his life for the past two decades. He remembers Buck who helped him baptize his oldest child at their old seminar during a multi -day trip.

“It was like brothers. We have to eat together, we pray together, we go conference together. It was just like a brotherhood,” Rowe remembered.

Arrangement for Buck’s funeral “handled by the family and will be divided as soon as possible”, according to the church’s statement. “Store Sinda and the family in your prayers!” They added.
