Oscar Isaac turns Jacob Elordi into a monster

Jacob Elordi teased as a towering monster built by Oscar Isaac In the first trailer for director Guillermo del Toros hold of Frankenstein.

The first pictures from the film, which are out in November, were shown during Netflix Tudum 2025 Live event on Saturday, May 31.

In it, Isaac, 45, Victor Frankenstein, plays the crazy researcher who creates a monster, played by Euphoria Star Elordi, 27. The Rollist also includes Mia GothFelix Chamber, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Charles Dance and Christoph Waltz.

Oscar-winner Del Toro, 60, is known for movies such as Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley and 2022’s Pinocchio. He has worked with the adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic story for over a decade and considers 1931 Frankenstein Film among his favorites of all time.

According to a Log line from Netflix, Isaacs is Dr. Frankenstein a “brilliant but egotistic scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to both the Creator and his tragic creation.”

“Of course, I am disappointed that I was not allowed to do it because I love Guillermo, I love Oscar and everyone he gathered, so I was disappointed,” Garfield added at that time. “But meeting Jacob (at Marrakech International Film Festival) felt really serendipitous so I could really see and hear that he might need that experience more than me.”
