One of the best items of the franchise

Every movie in Jurassic Park/World Franchise boils down to a filmmaker who plays with a scale and tries to do things that are extremely large fit and works credibly on the screen. So it’s something of a surprise – and a joke – that the amazing Jurassic World Rebirth Introducing its first monster only after the zero position at some teeny-smitness: a Stray Candy-Bar cover that falls on the floor.

The candy bar has just been consumed by a sloppy – deadly Sloppy – Technicians at a secret laboratory association. Obviously, new, mutant dinosaurs are constructed for Jurassic Theme Park’s genetically. (No one wants to pay top dollars anymore to take a selfie with a T. Rex penetrating in the background.)

But a small air puff, moved up like a huge glass door to a dinosaur cage slides open, runs that enclose a valve. This causes an error and crashes the laboratory computers just long enough for the technician to become a meal for the test that lurks inside the cage. (If only the deceased had remembered a gentle owl’s advice: give a hoot, do not contaminate.) You barely glimpse what eats the technician – its massive skull is hidden by lots of wheezing steam and red light – but it must be about the size of 50 million Cover.

Directed by Gareth Edwards (2014’s Godsill, Rebirth In itself is a humongous piece of candy. It can easily feed all US movies on film. And since they probably won’t get more than a few dolls for Christmas, shouldn’t they be able to enjoy this summer?

Rebirth Begins, in fact, with something more like redathing: A number of years after the reconstituted Jurassic -Dinosaurs were released into the world, they have almost all of them. The remaining species are grouped around the equator with its more hospitable heat, humidity and lush, tangled vegetation.

The entire region has been explained outside the limits of human-you will find no mention of that Lonely Planet – But it is about to be visited by an illegal band of tourists. One of them is Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend), a shady drug with Storvig who wants to develop the world’s most effective heart medication with the help of dinosaur blood samples. (They may look like evolution are sad sacks, but these dinosaurs were impressively harsh while controlling the earth. Have you ever heard of a brontosaurus keeling over from a stroke?)

This mission requires Krebs and a secret team to travel down to Dino land and receive these samples from three separate species-one aquatic, one land-based and one that can fly. (Why? If there was a dinosaur that had wheels for feet, would it need to be studied too?)

The team is led by Scarlett Johansson Like Zora Bennett, some kind of high quality, class-a-legoso soldier (her name suggests an unusually exotic Jane Austen character). She has gone off by a prominent paleontologist, Dr. Henry Loomis (Bridgerton ‘s Jonathan Baileythat is much less interesting of knee violations and buckled shoes) and riverboat captain Duncan Kincaid (Maharshala AliAlways interesting regardless of role or movie).

They all end on a tropical island, along with a family (led by dad Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) whose sailboat was destroyed by a monster that looked like a giant ruler pickle with teeth.

This island, by the way, has been home to the secret Jurassic Engineering Lab. The employees are all long away, maybe eaten, and the mutants are now roaming freely. It is a reptilian Freak’s paradise.

I apologize for that part of the exhibition, but Rebirth Takes his own sweet time – if as long as Pleistocene age seemed to me – before it finally gets its story. Once reached, however, the film is a happy excitement, a string of astonishing (and astonishingly stupid) scenes where the mutants go after Castaways.

There is no need to spell these scenes in any detail, other than to say that they are as varied and richly imaginative as everything you may have seen in the old classic in 1961 Mysterious island or 2005’s epic King Kong.

In other words, this is where director Edward’s grip on visual scale records so efficiently and rewarding. He is a world creator, a skill that has not been as common in Jurassic Movies you might have wanted.

Rebirth takes place over a formidable, often beautiful landscape of crags, jungle, rivers and ruins, both modern and ancient. Edwards can generate a sense of reverence and excitement – real emotional tension – with just a shot by Johansson and the crew that go through a huge field of tall grass. He has a gift for evocation.

And his work on the dinosaurs is inspired without being awkward. The creatures move safely across the island’s terrain, both huge and cramped, and often show up with a vampire stealth from shadows, smoke and the night itself. Or they turn in sight from up in the air and gabs down the temporary man in some funny gaps.

You may have a good time to even care about how much narrative thread remains to be flushed. I didn’t. Rebirth is one of the best movies in the whole Jurassic franchise.

It has proven to be a happy thing for modern civilization, and Hollywood, that dinosaurs, unlike most monsters, do not seem to arouse any deep, primary discomfort. A Cro-Magnon zombie maybe.
