NFL player Pete Werner Is married!
New Orleans Saints Linebacker married Emily Chernoff On Saturday, March 22, in a traditional Catholic ceremony at Saint Joan from Arc Church, followed by an elegant bal room reception at Scottish rite cathedral In their hometown of Indianapolis.
“Our wedding was really the best day and night in our lives, filled with so much love,” Chernoff tells people exclusively. “It is difficult to put words into how special it was to see our entire family and friends gather, and offer their extreme amounts of support. It felt fantastic to see how well both our families relate, which makes the day even more memorable.”
The Pair’s “Timeless” Nuptials were attented by approximately 300 guests, among whom were a mix of the groom’s current and forms teammates from his time playing with the saints and ohio state bucketyes, including: dallas cowboys’ pays’ pays’ paw. Arizona Cardinals’ Blake Gillikin, Philadelphia Eagles’ Zack Baun, Cincinnati Bengals Alun Sam Hubbard and New Orleans Saints’ Zach Wood and D’Arco Jackson.
“We are so lucky to have done great friendship through the NFL life,” Werner tells People.
At the couple’s afternoon wedding ceremony, Chernoff went down “The Longest Aisle” with a glittering wedding dress designed by Pink Clará. The pearlstick the dress from Marie Gabriel Bridal Has a halter neck ring and Garza Overskirt. The bride’s hair was designed half of Salon 1 | 4and her soft glam -makeup was made by Chelsea glass.
Werner saw Dapper with a traditional black tuxedo. He accessories with a boutonniere consisting of the yellow, green, blue and pink flowers of the wedding from Pomp & flowerWhich included yellow orchids and pastel roses.
Inside the “truly enchanting” church, the bride and groom changed promises surrounded by “the most detailed painted glass”, with a fantastic large painting over your head.
To be praised to Chernoff’s Irish roots, bags Robert Wood led the recession and the large outcome of the church.
Then the celebration continued into the cocktail hour, where guests snacks on a “massive” charcuterie board. They also liked shrimpcocktails, orange chicken and finger potatoes.
During “Vintage, elegant, Italian Garden Party” -styled reception, guests were served a plated salad with craftsmen, brie, pears, candied walnuts and pomegranate. They also had their choice of red wine braised beef, Atlantic salmon or a vegetarian sweet pepper, quinoa pilaf. Children, on the other hand, ate chicken fingers.
Food is met by Kahn’s catering.
For dessert, there were slices of a three -stroked wedding cake covered with smooth white butter cream, decorated with a tulle strap arch and topped with flowers. The lower layer was flavored almond, center layer chocolate with raspberry and top layer lemon. Sitting at the top of the bottom level was a Peekaboo puppy, a figure of the couple’s English Cream Dachshund named Tony.
Additional almonds, chocolate and raspberries and white flavored cookies, all from Top level cookieswere also available.
“We saw it as an unforgettable celebration, a massive party filled with laughter and memories shared with our closest family and friends,” Chernoff says about his big day.
A non-negotiable for the couple had good music and dance.
“An important detail that made us both feel special was before we asked our guests to sit, they looked down over us from the balcony while we danced to John Legend for our first dance,” Chernoff parts. “This moment was special because we got the chance to look up at everyone who was there.”
The guests “let go and vibed” on a large, open dance floor that Infinite summer bands performed.
“Without a doubt, one of the most crucial aspects of our wedding music was … our band selection was at the top of our list,” says Werner. “We wanted to make sure the band would give the perfect mix of energy and passion to keep our guests dance and engaged all night.”
“The dance floor was full of interesting features, and a few people may have become a little too taken over, but it has only increased the fun and excitement of the night,” he adds.

The bride’s father also set the standard in her first wedding speech by playing a powerpoint with more than 200 photos of Chernoff and Werner over the years.
“I can say that I hope to give a speech like him one day!” Werner says.
In a nod to Werner’s football career, New Orleans-inspired details were incorporated, such as a charming floral and greenery with a bistro table for an image-perfect moment, and a late night treatment of beignettes. The couple’s favorite meal, Cheeseburgers, was another late at night.
Chernoff also threw a floral painted football instead of a bouquet at the end of the night.
The newly married first met and became friends at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. They started dating while Chernoff was at Miami University and Werner participated in Ohio State University. In March 2024 announced their commitment. Their next chapter together means expanding their family.
“While we share time in New Orleans and Indianapolis, we look forward to starting a family sometime soon. We are happy to continue the traditions and beliefs given and taught by our families and friends,” says the couple. “But most of all, we are currently just looking forward to enjoying every day as a couple.”
