Newyork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell University Hospital gifted her a Chanel “Goodie Bag” Filled with a selection of premium cosmetic and skin care products.

Although the 32-year-old was well aware of the hospital’s reputation to spoil her patients, she says that a gift from the first place was a memorable way to mark the beginning of motherhood.

“I was honestly so surprised – and even more so that they brought it in without having to say a word,” Humphrey says exclusively. “I wasn’t sure if it was something everyone got or just a random gesture, but it made me feel so special.”

In a viral Unboxing video, the new mother revealed that inside the small black and white Chanel bag were two fringe primers, one lipstick and body oil.

According to a press release from the hospitalChanel gave an annual price of $ 1.5 million for the Newyork -Presbyterian/Weill Cornell 2004 to recognize physicians and researchers for outstanding progress in obstetrics and gynecology.

For over two decades, in Tandem with the academic award, the hospital has offered all mothers who give birth in the center a Chanel-sponsored brochure containing “information about medical and infants” and a luxurious gift.

Humphrey believes that every new mother deserves such a thought -provoking gift to help them feel seen and uplifted by the birth intensity.

“Personally, I believe that postpartiers in the United States is seriously missing. So many new parents have never even had a newborn before – it can feel overwhelming and scary,” she emphasizes.

“In addition, most mothers are sent home just two to three days after birth, while their bodies are still in larger recovery mode and sleep is almost non -existent.”

Many mothers report that they feel overlooked, not supported and emotionally depleted during the weeks after childbirth. This means that even little gestures, like an thoughtfully curated goodie bag, feel particularly meaningful.

“After all the physical and emotional intensity of the work, something so luxurious that I feel really seen and celebrated,” Humphrey tells People. “It was the perfect little moment of abandonment during such a transformative time.”
