A mother in New Hampshire and her 3-year-old son have died in what police believe was a murder murder.

According to a press release – Issued by New Hampshire -Riksdoken John M. Formal, New Hampshire State Police -Colonel Mark and Pembroke Police Department Chief Gary R. Gaskell – Pembroke police were called to a home by a resident about 1 local time on Friday 9 May.

“When they entered the home, they contacted the resident who called 911,” the press release said. “Upstairs in one bedroom, they discovered the other two residents suffering from obvious gunshot wounds: Julia Byrne (26 years) and her son, Blake Byrne (3 years).”

The witness at the site told responding officers that they heard two shots and then went to the bedroom, where they found Julia and Blake, both with gunshot injuries.

The 3-year-old was taken to nearby Concord Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Emergency personnel pronounced Julia dead at the scene.

According to an autopsy from the assistant director of medical examiners Abigail Alexander died the 26-year-old mother and her son both of individual gunshot wounds in the head. Blake’s death is considered murder, and Julia’s death is still waiting.

“Currently, the authorities are still investigating this as a possible murder and suicide,” spent the statement. “No further information is expected to be released right now.”

“I don’t know who lived there and I don’t think I ever saw them come out of the house,” said Ryan Demers, who has lived in the countryside in Pembroke for two years. “As far as I knew, they kept pretty much for themselves.”

The school board chairman Kerri Dean told the local outlet that parents at the New Hampshire city’s local schools began to pick up their children after the news broke.

“Of course, people are pretty on edge,” Dean said.

Choose Chairman Karen Yeaton told Monitor that the school board was aware of the ongoing investigation.

“It’s a tough day here in Pembroke. Very sad,” Yeaton said. “Select Board is very, very concerned about the victim’s family in shooting. Our deepest condolences go out to these family members, but at present we can not say more than that.”
