Nigeria suffer from a devastating loss in the middle of what is called the worst flood in 60 years.
According to BBCThe official death is currently more than 200 people with 500 others who are still missing. Local official Musa Kimboku told the outlet that rescue efforts have ended because none of the missing are believed to still live in the midst of the devastation.
The flood occurred in the city of Mokwa and strongly affected the Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa after heavy rain.

Mokwa District Manager Muhammadu Aliyu told the BBC that the authorities are planning to start digging out corpses that buried under the waste in an attempt to prevent illness.
Ibrahim Audu Husseini, spokesman for Niger State Rescue, told Associated Press That in addition to the more than 500 households affected by the floods, two roads were washed away and two bridges collapsed.
According to Nigerian Red CrossThe floods began on May 29 at 3 o’clock when most people slept “which resulted in significant loss of life and widespread distress.”

National Emergency Management Agency (Nema) Nigeria said in a Facebook -post on May 31 that 3,018 individuals have been displaced. NEMA uses water purification equipment to make drinking water for residents in an attempt to avoid water -borne diseases.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shared a long statement on X May 30 and says, “I expand my heartfelt condolences to the affected families and the good people in Niger State at this difficult time.”

He also assured citizens that the government would provide assistance to those affected by the floods.
“Aid material and temporary protection assistance are distributed without delay,” Tinubu wrote. “We will ensure that no Nigerian affected by this disaster is left behind or is unsurpassed. I assure all the people affected by your government with you.”
