Mom to 2 was shot and killed when she walked her child to the bus stop

A 23-year-old mother was killed when she took her child to school.

Around 8 o’clock on Wednesday, August 13, the young mother took her 7-year-old daughter to the bus stop near Coleridge-Taylor Montessori Elementary School in Louisville, KY, Louisville Metro Police Department (LmpD) said in a statement.

Ie ‘Juicy’ Williams was identified as victims by her family, according to Whas11. In addition to being the mother of her daughter, she also has a 2-year-old child.

When LMPD arrived at the scene, Williams was brought to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased, according to LmpD -Manager Paul L. Humphrey.

“I screamed, I screamed, I got everyone to come down,” Kendra Larue witnessed Wg. “I have children running this way, children running to Y. Children who run over there, together with my daughter and a couple of our friends, and then my second reaction to the one who is on the ground is.”

The authorities originally questioned a 15-year-old boy who suspect. But he was later released and then charged in an independent shooting in the same area that took place on August 7. LMPD is still looking for the suspect.

William’s sister, Lavett Knuckles, told reporters that she witnessed the deadly shooting.

“I had to see my sister lie on that ground and take her last breath,” said Knuckles, Per Unwise. “There was nothing I could do about it.”

“This is my daughter’s bus stop as well. She witnessed this too,” Knuckles said. “She’s traumatized, so many questions.”

“We want the killer to be caught ASAP,” said Williams’ Mom, Schreida Simmons, Per Whas11. She also said that her daughter “was the party’s life.”

“She would light the room every time she came in – you would know it was juicy,” said Williams cousin, Twand Howard.

Williams Aunt, Donna Cole, asked the public to remember her niece and her legacy while speaking at a press conference On Thursday, August 14.

“I am traumatized. I live in fear. Not because they will do anything to me, but to another’s child,” Cole said. “Be angry every day. Be proactive in your community. Be proactive in your area. Don’t talk about it. It is about it.”

At the press conference, William’s uncle, Kenneth Simmons and William’s uncle called the suspect to arrive. “If you are real men, say who has done it. Please.” Because it could be your child next. ”

“You can’t even go to the grocery store without anyone wanting to shoot you, or rob you, or carjack you,” said Williams grandfather, Bruce Simmons, Per WAVE. “It must end somewhere.”

On Wednesday, Humphrey confirmed that the children who witnessed shooting will be offered advice from Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS), the nearby KFUM and Office of Violence Prevention. “I know that JCPS has advisors in their schools who will make sure they come with these children and offer the support they need to get through this tragedy,” he said.

“Understand that you don’t get through anything like a young person. This is something that changes you forever,” Humphrey said.

“So whether it is the formal support we receive if provided by Louisville Metro or JCPS or private institutions, these children are forever affected by this,” he concluded. “And we have to realize it and we have to realize it as a society there. The formal support is not where it should stop and we will continue with it.”
