Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones‘ daughter Cary’s know she has a set of cool parents!
The 22-year-old served as her father’s date to the 2025 PAC NYC Icons of Culture Gala held at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York City on Tuesday (October 28).
With Zeta-Jones, 56, absent from the event because she was working, Carys wasn’t shy about revealing to PEOPLE what items she steals from her mom’s closet.

“I feel like I love vintage clothes,” she says. “I don’t really like to buy. I’m not really into fast fashion, just for sustainability reasons, so I feel very lucky to have a wonderful wardrobe to choose from.”
Carys admits that she should probably do a better job of telling her mom when she takes clothes from her closet, because she steals “a little too much.”
“She’s like, ‘Is that my bag?’ I say, ‘I don’t know. I don’t think so, Carys says with a laugh.

In addition to Carys, Douglas, 81, and Zeta-Jones are also parents to a 25-year-old Dylan. Douglas is also the father of the son Cameron46, with ex-wife Diandra Luker.
It’s no surprise that Carys is digging deeper into her mom’s closet, as she’s started a new chapter since degree from Brown University. Carys earned one degree in film and international relations.
She tells PEOPLE that at this new stage in her life, she is considering doing more in the performing arts.
“I grew up with theater and I didn’t study acting at school, but that’s why I’m excited to be in such an informative art room, so hopefully more of that,” she says.

During a performance at Late Night with Seth Meyers in September, Zeta-Jones revealed that she and her husband have got used to being empty nesters.

“We’re good,” she said. “And the coolest thing is our kids, who are now 25 and (22), like hanging out with us. And that’s the best.”
