Melania trump wrote a personal letter to the Russian president Vladimir Putin that her husband, president Donald TrumpHand-delivered during the Alaska summit.
In his letter, First Lady, 55, spoke the difficulties for children in Ukraine and Russia, said two officials in the White House, Per Reutants. Donald, 79, gave the letter to Putin, 72, during his sit-down in Alaska, which took place on Friday 15 August at the joint base Elmendorf-Ricardson in Anchorage.
Melania was not on the trip.
According to Reuters, the White House officials did not reveal the content of the first lady’s letter than to say that it mentioned the abduction of children in the middle of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
After Friday’s almost three -hour meeting, Donald announced that he failed to secure an agreement from Putin to end the war.
“There is no deal until there is a deal,” Donald said, after Putin claimed that the two world leaders had reached “an understanding”, according to Associated Press.
Donald also said that he planned to inform Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other European leaders about the talks with Putin.

Donald offered mixed messages about the meeting earlier this week. After announces the recipients of 2025 Kennedy Center AwardThe president began a political press conference where he told reporters that it would have “consequences” if Putin refused to stop the war in Ukraine after their meeting on Friday.
“I don’t have to say (what they are),” said the president, “but it will have very serious consequences, yes.”
But when he was later pressed by another reporter if he thought he could convince Putin to stop aiming at civilians in Ukraine, he admitted: “The answer is no.”
“I’ve had many good conversations with him. Then I go home and see that a rocket met a nursing home or a rocket met an apartment building and people are dead on the streets,” Donald said.
Earlier this month, Donald published on social media as he had relocated two nuclear restrictions in relation to Russia after an online back and forth with Dmitry MedvedevA former Russian president who is now vice chairman of Russia’s Security Council.
Following Donald’s statement July 28 to reduce Putin’s deadline for reaching a peace agreement with Ukraine, Medvedev wrote on x that “Trump plays the Ultimatum game with Russia.”

“50 days or 10 … he should remember two things: 1. Russia is not Israel or even Iran. 2. Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don’t go down on the sleepy Joe road,” he wrote and referred to former US president Joe Biden.
Donald Replied on Truth Social, Writing, “Based on the highly provocative statues of the forms president of Russia, dmitry co -vedev … I have ordered two nuclear submarines to be positioned in the appropiate regions, just in case these Foolish and inflammatory statement Important, and can often lead to Unintended Consequences, I HOPE THIS Will Not Be One of Those Instances. ”
Donald’s failure to end the deadly conflict between Russia and Ukraine has forced him to go back certain statements he made during his presidential campaign in 2024.

In March this year, before a scheduled conversation with Putin, the president was asked about his campaign promise that he would end the war within 24 hours of access.
“Well, I was a little sarcastic when I said it,” Donald said in an interview at Full measure with Sharyl Atkisson. “What I really mean is that I would like to get it decided and … I think I should succeed.”
