Maxim also told reporters that he can flee from the tragedy to lose his parents while on the ice.
“As soon as I meet the ice, my brain just – I don’t know if it’s the focus or just calm or silence or what, but it feels like I am alling everything out,” he said by AP. “And I just talk to them and they help me.”
“I don’t hear the audience. I don’t hear the announcers, I hear nothing. I just have this internal dialogue and I can just be almost calm and just be in my heart,” Maxim continued. “And they are always there too. And every time I think about them, especially when I’m on the ice, it really helps me, really to get through.”
