A 5-year-old boy was left blurry and shaken after a man on a moped pulled a gold chain from the neck in a brave daylight robbery in the Bronx, the authorities said.
The child walked along Marion Avenue near East 192ND Street in the Fordham section around 15:50 Saturday when the suspect pulled up on a motorized scooter, reached down and removed jewelry before speeding north, NYPD’s press office told People.
The first answers treated the boy at the site of redness and swelling, police say. He did not require hospital stay.

The stolen chain is estimated to be worth approximately $ 1,300, according to law enforcement sources that spoke with the New York Post.
Police described the suspect as having a multicolored hat, black jacket and black jeans. He fled on a moped, on his way away from the stage before officers arrived.
No arrests had been made from Monday morning, and NYPD urges someone with information to contact Crime Stopters on 1-800-577 tips.
The incident comes in the midst of growing concerns about scooter and moped-related street crimes in New York City, where such vehicles are often unregistered and harder to track.
