Man, girlfriend tried to be allegedly poisoned his exer with cyanide: police

A couple in Wisconsin is arrested in connection with the alleged poisoning of women who dated the man, the authorities say.

Paul van Duyne Jr., 43, and his partner Andrea Whitaker, 41, are accused of trying to poison at least two women, one of them three times, per authorities, WMTV 15The Wkow and NBC News reported.

The Dane County authorities claim that Van Duyne and Whitaker hatched the action to kill the women shortly after the couple started dating, reported WMTV 15 and NBC News.

One of the alleged victims claimed that about a month ago she was told by witnesses outside a Costco that her car had been broken, said Dane County Deputy District Attorney William Brown, Per WMTV 15.

She also took a sip of water that was inside her car and it tasted strange and made her spit it, WMTV 15, NBC and Wkow reported, with reference to Brown and a criminal complaint.

The woman was reportedly in a similar situation a few weeks later and called 911 when her water smelled strange, Brown said. The water bottle had cyanide inside, the authorities determined, according to the district lawyer’s statement WMTV 15 quoted.

In nearby Rock County, another woman suffered on three occasions what the authorities have established to be alleged poisoning, Per Wkow.

In April, her gymnastics bottle was polluted with cyanide and Thallium after her car was broken in, says prosecutor, according to Wkow.

A few days later, her car was broken back in and had such a bad smell the victim and her sister took another vehicle to go to the cinema, the complaint said. Sister, who is a minor, later became ill, per outlet.

A few days later, the woman’s stepfather found a toxic plant protein in the vehicle valve, said the complaint, Per Wkow.

Van Duyne, a Princeton degree confirmed by the Department of NBC News, was a mechanical engineer who began dating after a recent divorce, according to his lawyer.

Whitaker is a pharmacologist student, according to the stores.

They have been accused of three bills of attempted first degree intentional murder, aggravated battery, first degree ruthless to jeopardize safety and persecution resulting in bodily injury, Wkow reported, with reference to a criminal complaint.

They have not come into grounds.
