Man convicted of having killed a friend under Game of ‘who could take a city’s best’

A man in Wales has been imprisoned for killing a former colleague after they scrapped “who could take a place’s best” after a night out, the authorities have said.

According to BBCThe court heard that the couple had been to a friend’s house and drinks alcohol and taken cocaine before the deadly incident and reportedly “joking and laughed” throughout the evening.

Prosecutor William Hughes KC told the court, “there was a point in the evening where they initiated a discussion that could be described as banter but became an increasingly aggressive argument for who could take a better place,” per outlet.

The incident happened in Michael Davie’s apartment, and he said the suspect had told the victim, “I will hit you first,” and he had been alleged to have answered, “continue then,” reported the BBC. Davies told the police that he had “tried to deter the punch game”, the outlet.

Defense lawyer John Hipkin KC insisted that Thomas “never thought that Liam Morgan-Whittle would be seriously injured, even less die. It was a punch-by-punch game in which the two had become involved,” Per BBC, and admitted that his client “has struggled to manage.

Judge Paul Thomas KC said to the court, “This tragic event is driven by your excessive alcohol and cocaine use that caused you to lose all common sense,” according to the BBC. “You were warned by someone present not to do so. Morgan-Whitle’s mother, Claire Whittle, said about her son’s death: “What this has done to me and us as a family is something I don’t want anyone else to ever have to go through.
