Man accused of placing Easter eggs filled with marijuana around Texas Town

The police are looking for a man they claimed left plastic Easter eggs filled with marijuana in different places in a city in Texas.

LUFKIN Police Department (LPD) announced in a press release Shared on Facebook on Thursday, April 24, that arrest warrants had been issued for a man named Avante Nicholson after he is said to place several plastic eggs in public parks and on a motel.

LPD said they got a tip about the eggs after a city dwellers saw a post about them on Facebook.

“The suspect published four photos on Facebook showing each place as tips for finding the eggs,” the department said. “He also published a photo of five plastic eggs in the seat of a vehicle. Officers found four eggs and thought he had not placed the fifth.”

According to the press release, three of the eggs were found in three different public parks, and one was found behind a motel 6.

“But the fifth egg was found by a man and his granddaughter at Winston Park the following day and was taken to the police station,” LPD added.

The eggs contained more than a quarter of an ounce of marijuana, and after the police further investigated the social media posts, De Nicholson identified as the alleged owner of the Facebook page.

“They also found statements that referred to selling drugs on several occasions and in the posts he stated that the person who” acted “with him the day of the scavenger hunt would be given hints to the places for the eggs,” LPD said.

“Incidents like this is a reminder of why we seriously take all the information called into our offices,” said Lufkin Police Chief David Thomas in a statement. “On the surface it seems incredible that someone would give away a drug, but the follow -up proves that sometimes even the most unlikely things happen.”

“The safety of our society is at the forefront of everything we do,” Thomas added. “And in cases like this, when it jeopardizes children, we are even more vigilant.”

LPD said they have issued four crimes against Nicholson. They include three warrants for the delivery of marijuana in a drug-free zone-that refers to schools, playgrounds and youth centers and a guarantee for delivery of marijuana.

According to Texas Law, these accusations may have a penalty of up to $ 10,000 in fines and prison time up to two years.
