Lori, “I came here with the intention of having a quick trial. Right? These accusations came first. They are like five years old. I first talked to the lawyers, and I was like, they have had five years – prosecutors – to put together their case. And I really want to go to trial, we have to go.”

Elsewhere during the discussion, True Crime Arizona Lori asked about the “view of the public” that she represents herself because she has “nothing to lose” and that it is a “challenge, a show, a game” for her.
“I never hear any of this because I’m in a room 23 hours a day, and we have no access to any kind of news,” she said. “Or any kind of something, really. So I didn’t know people said so, but I wouldn’t agree, obviously.”
Lori added that she has “worked with my case for five years” – claimed that she knows the case “better than a lawyer can learn it in two years.”
“But here’s the thing, when you refrain from your rapid trial, they can keep you here as long as you want,” Lori said. “There are intelligent, strong, beautiful women here who have been here for eight years because of family tragedies. It is the same, as my case, a family tragedy, not a crime. A family tragedy, and they are waiting, and they are facing the death penalty for a family tragedy.”
