Sánchez, 55, told us New York Times That she collaborated with Monse founders Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim at the end of 2024 to start designing the costumes.

“Usually, you know, these suits are made for a man,” she said, noting that they are “tailor made” for women.

This is no longer the case for the astronauts of blue origin, which will fly with equipped suits made of “flame -resistant stretchneopre” with features that flatter the figure and allow small adaptation as a zipper on the calves to create a flared leg.

The women underwent a 3D body scan to ensure that their space equipment was perfectly mounted.

Sánchez described the results of their collaboration as “elegant” but added that “they also give some spice to space.”

Garcia noted that they wanted to embrace “simplicity” when designed. But they also wanted to bring something “a little dangerous” to the clothes and referred to motocross clothes and ski suits as inspiration.

“I almost put a corset in your suit, because I know you wouldn’t have been against it,” he joked with Sánchez, who agreed that she would probably have embraced the idea.

While creating something “flattering and sexy” was a goal, Sánchez emphasized that it was also important that the costumes worked properly during the flight. She remembers that she tried early prototypes and said, “I stretched. I made a backbed. I was like,” Okay, let’s make sure it didn’t split my back into space. ”

Spoken to ÄlteSánchez, Perry, 40 and King, 70, discussed their glam routines for the space mission.

“Who wouldn’t get glam before the flight?!” Sánchez asked and added, “We will have fringe extensions flying in the capsule!”

Perry chimped in and said, “The space will finally be glam. Let me tell me something. If I could bring up glam with me, I would. We will put the” ass “in astronaut.”

It was announced that the celebrities joined the flight in February 2025. The flight is expected to start around 9:30 ET, according to CBS.
