Kristin Cavallari Has no regret about cutting tape.
The Unusual James founder, 38, opened to people about her decision to stop talking to his fatherDennis Cavallari, after he “crossed the border” with his children.
“I mean, frankly, and it may sound tangled to some people, but that’s the best decision I’ve ever made and cut my dad out of my life. Such a weight has been lifted from me,” she says. “There is not a day where I miss him. I don’t know if it was two or three years ago, but I mean, I was an adult, let’s say I was 35 (when I decided). It was 35 years structure to that point.”
Cavallari shares his three children – sons Camden, 12, Jaxon, 11 and daughter Saylor, 9 – with her Exman, former NFL-Quarterback Jay Cutler. Although she declined to go in more detail about what happened between her father and her children, Cavallari says that she is “happy” with the choice she made about her dad, and it was something I had wanted to do for a long time. ”

“As if you just chew me. I don’t have time for it anymore,” she says. “If someone does not bring you joy, if people just give you injured and sadness and anger, what is the point? Even if it’s a parent, life is too short.”
In December, during a performance at Bunnie Xo’s Silent blonde podcast, Cavallari explained that her “father is a narcissist. Typical narcissist, “and her tumultuous relationship with him led her to” escape “by” drinking and doing drugs “as she grew up.
“And the only way I found a connection was with my boyfriend. I had no connection at home,” she told Bunnie Xo.

Now Cavallari says she has grown more over the past five years than she has ever done before, and she credits both who stand up against her father and navigate her divorce to make her stronger.
“These two things really forced me to look hard in the mirror and do the job at myself,” she says. “I had to become very real with myself about the lack of self -love that I had, and I had to find self -love and rebuild myself. I finally, for the first time in my life, love myself. I love my life. I have really worked hard to grow this peace and this happiness.”
