Kevin Bacon revealed his “worst nightmare” at a wedding.
The actor, 66, discussed his more than 40 years in Hollywood during a career retrospective at SXSW in Austin, Texas, on Friday 7 March. During the moderated discussion, bacon opened about the real way Footloose From 1984 still affects its life today, especially at weddings.
“My worst nightmare is to be at a wedding and DJ puts on the music and the song (Kenny Loggins “Footloose”) Coming and suddenly the wedding will be about me, and people form a circle around me and I become a trained monkey, ”Bacon explained. “So I’ve gone to DJs and said,“ Please don’t play that song. “It’s not that I don’t like the song.”
The upcoming age film tells the story of Ren (bacon), a teenage rebel that moves to a small southern city that has banned dance for religious reasons. The film contains a number of iconic dance scenes – of which many have become part of the cultural lexicon.

The Mysterious river The actor continued to share that he had no formal dance training before he got the role Footloose.
“The interesting thing about the movie is that I was not a trained dancer,” he said. “When I was growing up in Philly I loved to dance, in (New York) I would go to Studio 54 And dance all night alone – and that was when I was a waiter. I always loved it. ”
He continued: “But when they sent the script to me, I didn’t know it was a dance movie. They had talked about choreographers (and) I was like, ‘I don’t really need a choreographer. You can just turn on the music and I can just dance around and have fun with it. ‘And they were like,’ ah – na na, you don’t know what you get into. ‘ ”

And while the role that catapults bacon to immediate fame and heart hrob status, he revealed that he was not comfortable with the specific type of notority at that time.
“It was my dream to have my name in light and sit on the Johnny Carson show with actually Johnny Carson And get a red rug, but until you really have it you don’t really realize that there is anything strange about it, “he said while talking at the SXSW event.

He added, “Now I’m used to it. I had imposts -syndrome and I was resistant to it, and I didn’t want to squeeze and be on magazines. I wanted to be a serious actor – I didn’t want to be a pop star. That was the opposite of how I wanted to see myself. ”
Varying to the present, bacon – playing in the supernatural thriller show The farmer At Prime Video – shared how he chooses projects and revealed that he has never really had a “career plan.”

“I guess the first is the character and then you start looking at the other pieces of it – the director obviously and script and cast and place. I try my best not to think about the size of the budget or size of the salary or size of the role. I try to withdraw the three things out of it. I don’t worry about the size of some either, he said.
But he said that despite no formal plan, he always knew he wanted to become an actor.
“I wanted to become an actor before I knew what an actor was,” he told the audience. “When I was going into a room with family members, or if there was a party, I had a strong desire for everyone to look at me. I just knew I wanted the attention. Over the years I realized that there was a real set of skills there. But first it was just to have as many eyeballs on me as possible. “
