Julia Michaels is thankful for having Maren Morris In her life.

The couple, who recently collaborated on “scissors” together, are close friends, Michaels divided into a recent section of People in 10. Michaels, 31 and Morris, 35, have collaborated for several projects and even performed at Coachella together in April.

“She is really one of the most wonderful women I’ve ever met in the music industry,” says Michaels. “She is so down to earth, so humble, so kind. Such a girl’s girl, like always rooting for people she loves.”

She adds, “I feel it is rare, but it is really beautiful.”

Michaels could not remember what exactly Morris’s last text for her was, but expected it to be a message about encouragement and praise after their common performance at Coachella.

The two artists released “SAX” Music Video On January 10, where Michaels and Morris eventually throw an ex with a couple of small scissors. The song, Michaels told Police stoneThe is about being “unpleasant” when a relationship meets its end.

“It’s about being nonchalant when a relationship fizzles, for, let’s be honest, most people do,” Morris told the publication. “Not everything ends in heart damage, but sometimes apathy and an ease, which really needs representation in division songs!”

“You want to say goodbye, I don’t cry rivers/if you want to cut the straps, I get scissors, baby,” Michaels and Morris sing in the choir. “I don’t mind, I’m not even bitter/if you want to cut the straps I’ll get the scissors, baby.”

Less than a year earlier in June 2024, Michaels and Morris collaborated for “Cut!” -En let on her five -track EP Pausewhich is about showing up image-perfect and composed and the resolution that happens at the end of the day.

“It is a cathartic edition that does not require secret, but there are worldly expectations to keep it together despite your feelings,” Morris said about the song. “This song gives me permission to fall apart.”

Michaels also wrote “Circles around this town”, the leading single from Morris’ 2022 album Humble mission, Marks their first collaboration together.
