An idaho-man suffered life-threatening Third degree burns Over the upper body under a backyard bonfire has gone wrong.
Robert Thompson from Twin Falls County tried to make s’mores with his partner and their two daughters on April 1, per East Idaho News.
“He went to start the fire, and he realized he had no fire starts. So he only took gas can that we have,” came Thompson’s partner, Kimberly Graybeal, to the outlet.
Graybeal explained that the gas can then exploded while Thompson, 25, held it, added Graybeal: “It’s not something we expected.”
“The whole body went back and his arms and his legs went out. He just freaking flew,” she continued.

According to Graybeal, Thompson had an intense reaction to the event. “Robert was on the ground and rolled and screamed for his life. He just screamed,” Please help me! Please! I’m dying! Please help me, ”she said to the outlet.
Graybeal added that Thompson managed to get her jacket from her body as she ran into the house to get water. A nearby neighbor, in the meantime, called 911.
Graybeal, however, chose to drive Thompson to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center instead of waiting for help to arrive.
“The hospital told me when I took him there that if I would have been waiting for an ambulance, he would have died,” she told East Idaho News.
Thompson was later lifted to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, where he was placed in a medically induced coma.
East Idaho News reported that he has third degree burns on the upper body, “including his neck and face.”
Coleen Niemann, a spokesman for Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, tells people that Thompson is still in the hospital and his condition “remains the same.”

On one Gofundme Page, Graybeal said Thompson is the most important source of income for their family. According to East Idaho News, Thompson is one Postworks.
Graybeal said she created the collection page to cover basic costs while her partner cannot work.
