Stars in Hollywood pay their respect after the death of the movie legend Robert Redford.
On Tuesday, September 16, the actor and director died in his home in Utah, at the age of 89.
“Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025, at his home in Sundance in Bergen in Utah – the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved,” Cindi Berger, chairman and CEO of Rogers & Cowan PMK, told People in a statement. “He will be much missing. The family is requesting integrity.”

After the announcement of his death, many celebrities have paid tribute to the icon’s life and inheritance.
In a statement shared with people, Jamhis From Africa Costar, said, “One of the lions has gone. Rest in peace my beautiful friend.”
“Our film, Coda, was all noticed because of Sundance. And Sundance happened because of Robert Redford. A genius has passed. Rip Robert,” Actress Marlee Matlin wrote on x With reference to the non -profit organization, the Sundance Institute, which Redford founded in 1981 to support independent filmmakers, composers and theater artists.

The actor and director Ron Howard wrote it X“#Rip & thanks Robertredford, an extremely influential cultural figure for the creative choices made as an actor/producer/director and to launch the Sundance Film Festival, as Supercharged America’s Independent Film Movement. Artistic Gamechanger.”
Author Stephen King also praised the tribute to So we were star.
“Robert Redford has passed away. He was part of a new and exciting Hollywood in the 70s and 80s. Hard to believe he was 89,” The Creator wrote on x.
