High School Sprinter accused of abuse after hitting a competitor in the head with Metal Baton during Track Race

A high school printer was accused of abuse after hitting a competitor in the head with a metal battle during a bank race.

According to ABC NewsThe 13 news nowand WTKRThe incident occurred during the second part of the 4×200 relay at the Virginia High School League championship held at Liberty University in Lynchburg earlier this month.

There, IC Norcom High School Senior hit Alaila Everett Brookville High School Junior Kaelen Tucker with a baton in his head as he drove next to her.

Video films show that Everett turns its baton and seems to hit the tucker in the head before Tucker releases his baton and runs aside. IC Norcom High School team was disqualified from the event.

Bethany Harrison, Commonwealth’s lawyer for the city of Lynchburg, confirmed to the stores that an incorrect charge of abuse and battery charge was issued against Everett.

In an interview with WSETTucker said she was “so in distrust” after the incident and said, “I didn’t even know. I didn’t know what had happened.”

“I was hit in my head and I just fell off the track,” Tucker said. High School Junior did the interview with his mother, who said that Tucker has a “small concussion” and “possible skull fracture.”

“I still can’t believe it. I’m still in shock, like everyone texting me to control me, and I appreciate it, but as if I’m still trying to take everything in, and I can’t believe it happened,” Tucker said.

“I would never do it on purpose,” Everett said during an interview that was sent on Good morning America Tuesday 11 March. “It’s not in my character.”

While reminding the incident to WTKR, Everett said: “She (Tucker) moved to the point where I pumped my arm, and the baton hit my arm. I lose my balance – my whole body turns and then I pump my arms, so she was hit.”

According to 13 News now, IC Norcom’s athletic director and Everet’s father Tucker’s parents called to apologize, but the two teenagers have not been in touch.

Portsmouth Public Schools told People in a previous statement that it immediately reported the incident to the Virginia High School League (VHSL), which continues an investigation into the matter.

“We collaborate with VHSL in its work,” Dr. Lauren Norasco, chief communications manager for Portsmouth Public Schools. “The division will support and follow the decision that comes from VHSL after its investigation.” Brookville High School did not immediately respond to people’s previous request for comment.

The Virginia High School League said in a statement previously obtained by people that it stated by its decision to disqualify Everett.
