On April 22, Netflix announced that the Fans-Favorite series-which is based on the graphic novels of Alice in man – Will end with a feature film rather than a fourth and final season.

Heartstopper – which first premiered in April 2022 and has won five children and family Emmy Awards – Follows the romance between teens in high school Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor).

The Hearttopper Film will customize Oseman’s upcoming sixth and last Hearttopper novel and 2020 Nick and Charlie Novella, explore how milestones like college affect Nick and Charlie’s relationship.

“I am deeply relieved and so excited about this new creative company,” Oseman wrote on Instagram. “I have written the script and we are hard at work already. I will be able to talk about it more soon, but for now we will celebrate! Heartstopper will end !!!!!”

What is? Hearttopper movie about?

The Hearttopper The film will pick up after the Season 3 final, when Nick and Charlie reached a new level of intimacy.

According to the film’s official synopsis, the couple will face their biggest obstacle yet as “Nick is preparing to go to university and reality in a long distance relationship begins to weigh them.”

The film will be based on Osemans 2020 Nick and Charlie Novella and the coming sixth and last Hearttopper Graphic novel, which currently does not have a release date.

In the past, Oseman – who uses both she/her and the pronouns – has said that she wants the sixth book to meet stores before the series comes to an official ending.

“I really need, extremely, dedicated in volume 6 book to get out before season 4 comes out, so people experience the end of the story from the books first,” told the former Patreon subscribers, Per Teen Vogue.

Who is in Hearttopper Movie casting?

Kit Connor and Joe Locke are the only confirmed members in Hearttopper Movie casting. They will start in the film and act as executive producers.

Connor first teased the project while talking to Vogue In April 2025 – just a few days before Netflix’s great announcement.

“I would definitely like to do (a series finale) as long as it has been done right,” he said. “I just want to make sure we keep the heart in it. So we work with something and hopefully we will happen. But we will see. No promises. I do not want to do it if it is not right.”

Nick and Charlie’s friends – including Elle Argent (Yasmin Finney), Tao Xu (William Gao), Isaac Henderson (Tobie Donovan) and more – are likely to make performances. That directs Hearttopper Film?

Wash Westmoreland will direct Hearttopper feature film. His previous credits include 2014 Still Alice and 2018’s Coal.

Oseman will serve as the project’s screenwriter and executive producer, with the help of Patrick Walters, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Euro Lyn and the film’s two stars.
