Harry Hadden-Paton did not know the name of his Downton Abbey character up to a very crucial scene.

Hadden-Paton plays the shy, unassuming, but with the title Herbert “Bertie” Pelham, 7th Marquess by Hexham, who falls in love with and then marries Lady Edith Crawley, played by Laura Carmichael. When they get married, Edith becomes Marchioness of Hexham.
