Hannah Storm Know a little about rebounding.
The legendary ESPN program company – which called the first broadcast of a WNBA game – began his career as Houston Rocket’s sideline reporter, loves New York Liberty (and perhaps its mascot Ellie even more) and is excited about the future of women’s bumps.
Storm is currently working through breast cancer treatment and returned to work after just a week after her diagnosis and a lumpectomy in January 2024.
“I feel really good,” says Storm, 62, people exclusively while at a mammogram screening event sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company in Tampa, Florida, before women’s last four showdown between UCONN and South Carolina. “Treatments can be very individualized and very specific, which is why I could get back to work really fast and my surgery was successful and so far so good.”
“But I’m really aggressive now,” she adds. “You are screened with MRI, you are screened with mammogram, you are screened with ultrasound, you are screened every six months and I will gladly do it for the rest of my life.”
Storm is also pleased to know the issue and encourages women to be at the peak of their health and have time to get their mammograms.

“Because I had the earliest form of breast cancer, when you look at the five -year survival, is it as high as 99% … I mean, who wouldn’t want it?” Storm says. “You get diagnosed with cancer, but you have a 99% five -year survival. It’s just fantastic. But again you have to get on top of it early to have that kind of result.”

Storm bounces back from last year’s diagnosis, and her enthusiasm for basketball is contagious.
Although her women’s console was Bustad thanks to an early end from her Alma Mater Notre Dame, Storm traveled high at the time of people’s interview (at least until after the championship a few days later) thanks to her Houston Cougars election on the men’s side.
Storm has an affinity for the team close to where she has lived, whether it is Houston, The Fighting Irish or Uconn, which is close to her Connecticut -home.
“We are, like between New York and between Boston,” Storm tells People. “So half of the people love Boston Sports, half of the people love New York Sports and everyone loves Uconn.”
As Sports Center Anchors can attest, it is a good time to be a huskies fan-and a woman working in the middle of the ever-changing sports landscape.
“I was thinking about this last night,” Storm tells you to look back at the development of her career. “And I was like,” oh my gosh, this is so cool. “I could never have imagined it when I started and I was the only woman.
She adds, “Now I go to work and it is just like everyone, especially this time of year, everyone is there and it is all women, and many times there are two women who anchors Sports Center. It has just come so far and it is the norm, and it is just the energy and vibe. It just makes me happy. I love it. I love to get to work. I love talking about everything. Everything from motherhood to fashion, to obviously to sports, but just having that connection is just so gratifying for me. ”
