“Good Burger” star Jan Schwieterman dies at 52 after cancer diagnosis



Actor Jan Patrick “JP” Schwieterman, best known for starring in Nickelodeons Good burgersHas died at the age of 52.

Jan died at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo. on February 28, according to his obituary. His brother, Chad Schwieterman, also confirmed the news in a Facebook postShared that the actor died after being diagnosed with cancer in step 4.

“It is with a heavy heart that I divide from my brother, Jan (JP) Schwieterman,” wrote Chad on March 1. “He recently found out that he had an aggressive form of cancer in step 4 and passed last night. Keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate in this difficult time.”

“Rest in peace, brother. We love you and miss you,” he added.

Jan was born in Bluefton, Ind. – Located about 25 miles south of Fort Wayne, Ind. – September 30, 1972. When he was a child he participated in Boy Scouts of America and was “proud” to have become an Eagle Scout during his youth.

After high school, he moved to California with ambitions to become an actor. He got his first role in 1994 in the TV series McKenna Before going to the guest star in other major shows at that time including IsThe ForeverThe Night masterThe Undressed and Bliss.

In 1997 he snagged the role of the rogue character Kurt Bozwell in Nickelodeons Good burgersacting together with comedians Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. He also played in the 1999 Warlock III: the end of innocence and American intellectuals.

In 2000 he played in Fallen arches before taking a seven -year interruption from acting. He returned on the screen that Michael Braga in the 2007 film Along the roadThat would be his final film credit.

Jan also enjoyed other artistic jobs such as photography and painting and studied martial arts, according to his death. The former actor played dungeons and dragons in his downtime.

Apart from these activities, he also “loved to travel”, most recently visited Thailand.

His funeral was held on March 4 and the family asked for all donations to be sent to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

The actor is survived by his parents Leeroy Schwieterman and Clara Reed, two sisters, Megan and Vanessa, his brother Chad and several siblings, nephews and cousins.
