Glenn Howerton says he couldn’t be further from his Sirens character.
While talking to people at Sirens The world premiere, the actor, 49, opened about how he approached his role as Ethan Corbin II in Netflix’s latest beach drama.
“My character is very kind of naive and a little forgetful, and I’m kind of proud to be exactly the opposite of that in the real world,” he explained. “I really try to understand how my actions affect other people and not move through the world in a forgetful manner.”
Howerton added how some of Ethan’s “more forgetful moments” have been “a little difficult for me to play because it’s just so different than me, but that’s also what I love about it.”

“We are always looking for a challenge. I don’t want to be myself all the time on the screen,” he continued. “Sometimes I do, and sometimes it’s good to just take on a happy blazer and be a completely different person.”
Per Netflix’s official logline, the five-section Limited series takes place “during an explosive weekend at Kell’s lavish Ögård” and is a “cut, sexy and dark fun exploration of women, power and class.”
“Michaela’s cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug that Simone, and Devon has decided it is time for an intervention,” it continues. “But she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be.”
In addition to Howerton, Sirens Also stars Julianne MooreThe Milly AlcockThe Meghann FahyThe Kevin BaconBill Camp and Felix Solis.

At the premiere, Howerton also told People that he was most “excited” for the fans to see “such an interesting mix of tones that are all composed.”
“It’s this kind of essential mystery, excitement drama, but it’s also really, really fun,” he said about the series. “It beats a tone that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. And then there are only so many amazing actors in what just really puts forward really impressive work.
“It’s not a great commitment. It’s longer than a movie, but there are only five episodes. So I think it will fly by and people may even want more,” he added.
