With the ups and downs of her family’s personal life documented in the last 14 seasons of The real housewives in New Jersey, Gia, 24, creates a new story for itself.
In an exclusive interview with People, she opens up to start her iHeartradio podcast, Temporary chaosThe and the lead role in the upcoming Bravo Reality series Next gene NYC.
“In a way I’m one of the main characters now – I’m running the bus, I have control,” she explains. “So it’s really cool to be on your own and in my own light.”

Her mother, Teresa judgehas been a role member at Rol Since his debut in 2009, when Gia was only 8 years old. Since then, cameras have followed her family’s ups and downs, including her parent’s criminal beliefs in 2014 and subsequent captivatingHer father Joe Judge2019 deportation and complicated relationship Between Teresa, her brother and his wife, Joe and Melissa Gorga.
“I think it’s definitely a lot,” Gia says of everything she and her family have gone through. “It’s my family, but at the end of the day I’m an individual. I obviously take care of everything that happens in my life, but overall the whole family is very responsible.”
Last month the news broke that Teresa and her husband Luis Ruelas Where Hit with $ 3 million in tax reliefwhich led to the discourse on the family history with legal issues. While Gia wants to embrace her individuality, she tells people that nothing is more important to her than her family.
“As I said on my podcastEverything is taken care of, “she notes by the tax liability.” But at the end of the day I will always defend my family if people like it or not, and you will either love me or hate me for it. As much as I go out on my own I will always have my family’s back. And that’s all I did, and that’s all I keep doing. ”
She adds: “The whole family is in the public eye, so what happens to my family, (I am) associated with it. That’s exactly how it goes. So even though it may not be me, I will still get tough in the comments and my sisters will love you.

Over the years, Gia says she has learned to filter her comments on social media and brush the negativity. She also does not plan to stay away from hard topics and hopes that her personality shines through at the end of the day.
“I’m excited for people to get to know my fun, easier I,” she shares. “And I just want them to feel that they are in a conversation with me when I listen to my podcast. I want them to feel how relaxed and easy I am, and I also want them to really feel they can relate to me.”
“I am super excited to talk about topics as a divorce and talk about how I handle my parent’s divorce and maybe see if it can help others, or how I handled my parent’s prison if any of my viewers have to do with their parents, family members or friends who go through prison,” she continues. “I’m super excited to really dive deeply.”
