Fortune Feimster reveals that her mother has “rare and very aggressive” cancer

Wealth feimster Opens on her mother’s severe health diagnosis.

On Sunday, May 18, the comedian, 44, published a photo on Instagram and revealed that her mother ginger recently diagnosed with an incurable cancer and “she has a struggle forward.”

“A few weeks ago she went to urgent care over shortness of breath and by chance she ended up getting a scan that showed a large cancer mass (about the size of a small orange) on her liver,” she shared. “She was told that it was step 4. She has since then several biopsies and scans and she has a very rare and very aggressive cancer. It is intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) bile duct cancer and there is much of it. It is step 2.”

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is a rare and aggressive form of cancer that occurs in parts of the bile ducts in the liver. The disease affects about 8,000 people in the United States every year and is most common in people around 70 years. According to Cleveland ClinicOnly a small amount of cancer in the bile ducts is curable because they are usually not diagnosed until the disease has already spread.

Feimster shared that this was the case for her mother.

“Fortunately, it is there for now, but unfortunately it is not hardened,” she wrote. “But you can treat it. Some people live for a year. About 15. She will soon start chemotherapy and immunotherapy. We will do everything we can to get her the help she needs.”

Feimster said there is still much that their family learns and calls everyone with expertise in their mother’s type of cancer. She added that they are looking for specialists at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

“Meanwhile, she asked for lots of prayers,” she stopped. “She is scared but ready to make a big fight. And we will soon shop. I don’t offer to shave my head for her so hopefully I can find her something that compensates for it. She is resilient so I know she will be a master and who always will use light and humor to get through it. Let us go, ginger!”

In the comment episode, fans of Feimster and co -stars sent well wishes to her mother when she starts her cancer trip.
