Foo fighters reveal new drummer coming from nine inches nails

Foo Fighters has lost drummer Ilan Rubin to take over for Josh Freese.

The former nine inches of the nails’ drum’s new jobs were first reported by Hollywood Reporter And later Amount Wednesday, July 30. He takes over for Freese, whose new job will drum for Nin.

Foo Fighters and Freese announced in May that they were farewelltwo years after he took over too late Taylor Hawkins. Hawkins died 2022, 50 years of age.

While Rubin will leave nine thumb nails, Freese will return to nine inches nails and tour for their upcoming Peel It Back Tour. The band published a photo of Freese to their Instagram story and seemingly confirmed the news with a caption that read: “Let’s go.”

Freese, 52, confirmed that he no longer drummed for Foo Fighters in May and explained that the band had decided “to go in a different direction with its drummer.”

Freese previously performed with the Trent Reznor-fronted nine inch nails from 2005 to 2008.

“Leaving nine inches of nails at the end of 2008 was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made,” Freese wrote on Instagram Wednesday. “My wife and I expected our third child, and I knew I needed to go away from life on the road to be home with my family.”

Freese and his wife, Nicole, share four children: Hunter24 August18, Olive16 and Lu Lu14.

“Now it’s back on the tour with Trent and the crew that helps them do what they do the best night after night-is something I am extremely excited about,” he continued. “Being part of that energy again feels fantastic.”

Rubin served as Nine Inch Nails Tour drummer for 16 years. At 32 years he was introduced in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2020, which made him the youngest ever the inducter at that time. He has also worked with Angels & Airwaves, Paramore and Danny Elfman.

It has not been confirmed if Rubin will only serve as a tournament trummer or full -time member in nine in nails. Told a source Hollywood Reporter That Rubin told Reznor that he took a job with another band and would not join the North American leg on their Peel It Back Tour, which starts Wednesday, August 6 in Oakland, Calif.

Meanwhile, Rubin will meet the road with the Foo fighters for their First exhibitions 2025Starts in Jakarta, Indonesia, Thursday, October 2. They will also stay in Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka and then in Mexico City for the Corona Capital Festival.
